Good to hear from you.

Sorry Terry, I must have shot that over your head. The quotes are important because the author of that article implies that this is the truth by general consensus. We all know that this is not the truth and most people want to see development. Ta Daaa! We agree. This point is also for Winer, who like me was looking for the truth/facts (same?) in the article.

I am under the impression that the US has some of the oldest and most outdated mining laws in the world. I will stand corrected by a third (objective) party on this. It is these laws that allow corporations to proceed with exploration and development in parks (i.e. your buddies in Crater of Diamonds Park). This is not a bad thing it is very healthy in that the companies deal with the people on a bilateral basis and come to a mutually beneficial agreement, without legal BS from tertiary concerns with vested interests.

You have made one important point. The "Us versus Them" mentality. This IS sad, yet I firmly believe that it must be generated by outside parties such as lawyers from Toronto or idiots writing dramatic articles. These are the people who are really manipulating the natives and the whole process of negotiating.

The proof is in the last few posts here!!
