Reporting Option Trading
On my year end report from my broker there is a list
of all the option tradings. However, at the bottom
of the page it says "No option transactions or
proceeds will be reported to the IRS. This list is
for informational purposes only." How does option
trading get reported and by who? Also, if I sold
a Jan 98 call, does it count as 97 income or 98?
Any input is appreciated.
