Rambi held the unconscious but not particularly burdensome Juan in her strong young arms as the Hispanically zaftig woman looked beyond her, her broad features breaking into a wide smile which, like her outfit, resembled her husband's. Rambi wondered if they had each lost the same right front incisor intentionally. Bub was turning on the charm and the woman was absolutely giggly. She took Bub's hand and they disappeared toward Casa Yadayada, Rambi watching in somewhat befuddled amazement. Bub never looked back; he certainly could hold a grudge. SHe was distracted by the sound of a gleeful cackling from around the side of the shed. Quickly throwing Juan over her shoulder, she flattened herself against the wall of the ramshackle building as the head of a very large chicken thrust itself around the corner. It crowed in delight at the sight of her, or perhaps it was Juan who brought about such a burst of chickeny joy. Whichever, Rambi did not like the way it was licking its beak. She threw Juan into the shed, turned and slammed the door behind them, realizing as she did so that she had dropped her beloved Uzi on the ground outside in order to catch Juan on his descent into her arms. As if on cue, he moaned and she turned to him, pulling out the Essential Spanish for Tourists from her thong.
