I've been listening to Mr. Bill on CNBC. He's not really budging; he is of the belief that permitting the Netscape browser on Windows 98 will be enough to get DOJ of his back. Not.

IMHO, this will ultimately lead MSFT to lighten-up on the strong-arm tactics it now employs in present peripheral markets it eventually seeks to dominate -- that is, if it hopes to avoid anti-trust legislation the government is presently weighing.

Right now Bill appears to have not yet realize he's sort of in lose-lose situation. He & his advisors must now develop a strategy (if they have not already) akin to damage control.

Bottom line, as it relates to ORCL, the MSFT threat will undoubtedly be weakened. To what extent remains to be seen.

As I write, the intraday trading pattern today is vigorously convincing of a change in sentiment over the past week.
