Wall Street Analyst, Metastock and Windows on Wall Street now all come with historical data on CD. As far as I understand, the first two at least have a way to complement the CD with current data obtained from Dial Data. You can even subscribe to a quarterly update CD. This is nice since you don't have to keep all data on your hard disk, and you don't have to download all of it either.

Questions:
1)Can you do the same updating with Quote Plus, assuming you get the CD, which may contain "15 WEEKS delayed" quotes (rather than "15 mn").

2) Do you get so-called "fundamental" data from Quote Plus?

3) Can you make use of fundamental data in calculations inside Metastock.

4) If you get fundamental data, does it include Canadian data. I noticed that online servers like NetWorth supply it only for US. Maybe the data doesn't even exist in standard form for Canada.

I read about the new version Metastock 6.0 and it looks like the best buy to me, since it is both intuitive and easy to use. In addition, it seems that you will be able to integrate nicely with MS Office 97, which I'm planning to buy (now using MSWorks). It's always nice to be able to play freely with your data, like you can do in a spreadsheet
