Buzzzzzz.... You are wrong..... Companies that have these patents may collect royalties, however this is the exception - not the rule..... especially in THIS industry. NO...more often than not these companies give up the royalties in order to have their technology adopted widely. Then they leverage this "win" to their future benefit. HOWEVER!!! More often than not these technologies are tweeked slightly before being ratified so that no company can successfully leverage their apparent leadership. This causes the organization to go back and "update" their products to be "compliant". Nice try my friend..... ;)
