Big GM announcement coming tomorrow at Geneva Auto Show! Here's the link to an article on it: mhv.net

Reading between the lines:
-big commitment by GM to fuel cells
-strong belief in ability to bring costs to marketable levels
-global effort by GM and expressed desire to work with outsiders to make it happen
-continued collaboration with Ballard while seeing if they can develop their own fuel cell with the necessary cost/performance characteristics- not surprising given the Ford/Daimler/Ballard venture
-GM fuel cell still very early stage since it is only on the test stand at this point, not in a car

Should be very positive for Ballard in terms of the confidence this shows in the viability/ promise of fuel cells going forward as well as the press this may receive. For fuel cells to be a viable successor to the ICE we need many manufacturers to be heading in that direction, Nothing in this article indicates a weakening in Ballard's technological leadership and interestingly it leaves the door open for GM to be a long term customer going forward if they can't perfect their own fuel cell or work around BLD's patents.
