In 1989, when, for example, Marc Andreessen was maybe a high school freshman, and only a few academics knew what the Internet was, I started reading UNIX magazines, because I just took my first UNIX job after years working w/ PDP-10s, Vaxes, etc. I was initially struck by all the whining Scott McNealy did about Bill Gates. You couldn't find one of these magazines without a McNealy/MicroSoft tirade!

Now, nearly 10 years later, UNIX hasn't changed, McNealy hasn't changed, the tech world has changed a lot, Gates is 50 times richer than he was, and so is MSFT, and I'm working on NT (thank God).

Maybe McNealy should stop whining and get off his butt.

Regards,
TK
