That's why I'm confused about the use of the word cusip with a name change. When the cusip number is changed, you are correct, all shares must be accounted for(I believe shares in name form must be exchanged and those in street form need to be accounted for and then changed over to the new cusip). Only the cusip identifies the stock, the name can change a hundred times. Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong.
