First of all to get the formalities out of the way--I'm a long-time 'lurker' who finally anted up the SI fee (before they finally institute the long-threatened price increase) only because I couldn't face the prospect of never having the opportunity to toss the occasional technically inept question at some of the obviously talented and insightful ( not to mention prolific and pretty funny ) individuals who haunt this thread. I can only hope that you will all bear with me should I ask the odd question which may seem irrelevant but would only be me trying to advance from the Stone Age. <gg> As to PC DVD, as it happens, I was at the local Computer City last Sunday and noticed a recent arrival among the PC games.. Tex Murphy-Overseer by Access Software and lo and behold, on the front of the box, the magic words: "Both DVD and CD-ROM versions included." The salesman I cornered advised that it was the first PC game they had ever received in DVD and, by the way, Computer City had just cut the price of the DVD add-on/conversion kit by about 1/3. The price, including installation and taxes, was about $595...don't panic!!!..Canadian or roughly $420 U.S....soooo, if we, in the frozen Great White North already have DVD at the ready, ya gotta know it's widely available.
Not a 'sleek lion' nor a 'mangy bear'...just 'Wolf' (thank goodness there's a vet on the premises)...: ) |
