During the fourth-quarter conference call with analysts, in answer to a question, CEO Sanders specifically disclosed that the yield problem and Texas/Dresden fabs were necessary to move forward on. Sanders said that available cash was tight and additional sources would be found. This is that alternative. Since Sanders' intentions were disclosed earlier, this potential sale of stock and debt may already be factored in AMD's stock price.
