Re: Embedded system info
  Mark,
The embedded system business that Intel refered to is different from the smart phone, handheld PC, ... business. Intel was refering to their microcontroller business (8051, 8096, 80186, 80960). Intel is not doing too well in that area because engineers now start using more powerful processors such as Pentium, 68030, or better microcontroller such as M683322 in their design because of higher throughput requirements, advent of ASIC and surface mount which allows squeezing more circuitry on the board.
Chip and Technology reports excellent earnings today, which indicates that PC sales are picking up. But the market seems to react negatively to Intel's strong earnings with regard to the PC related stocks such as MU, CY, CRUS, ALSC ... Those stocks went up this morning but then went down this afternoon.
  Mike.
P.S. Your best bet is to buy SYSF. They should do well in the laptop business, plus they got SystemWizard. |
