JMHO, but did'nt AMD and Jerry say in public that the success/failure of the company hinges on how well they( AMD ) can execute, without regard to Intel. It is their decision making and execution that will ultimately lead to their success or failure. BTW, it may be a little too premature to throw in the towel just yet if you are a true believer in AMD.
