The only reason it matters is that theoretically, RISC architecture is more scalable, meaning that future RISC processors ought to be able to show greater performance gains over earlier generations. For any particular, existing computer, it is irrelevant.

Well, in a year, when your computer is obsolete, you'll be able to buy another RISC computer then that's much faster than this one, but at least you won't have to buy new software for it.
