Help me, here. Who manufactures the motherboard? INTL, or outside contractor? Does INTL focus on board design, or is it left to the PC manufacturer? Consider the necessary interaction between the CPU, the graphic chip, & the various types of memory, both on & off the CPU. Who makes the motherboards? Intel by a wide and growing margin. They made the embarrassingly obvious observation several years ago that total domination of the motherboard market would open the door for their multimedia, telecommunications and related chipsets. They are trying to make realtime multimedia an essential component of PCs and they will succeed in doing so. That should make things interesting going forward for companies like DIMD.
