The strong rise in the energy sectors, at the same time that the airlines and transports have rebounded from their recent weakness, is a very unusual situation, since these sectors normally have a high negative correlation. This has happened before in the past, however, but as unusual as it may be, the current strength lies with the energy funds, and they are probably better purchase candidates at this time due to their greater upside potential after a lengthy downtrend that saw them unable to participate in the market's rally this year.
