Thanks for a thorough and informed discussion about the C6 and other chip architectures. The Covington points out Intel's realization that market demand has not materialized for incrementally more powerful parts at much higher prices. Here they will take advantage of their marketing clout to push off a less capable stop-gap part on the "sub zero" (sub $1000) market. Isn't Intel planning to come out with a successor to Covington that will have a backside on-chip L2 catch?
