Agreed. And that battle on top of the battle to recover Apple's reputation on the quality issue. Some of the Performas sold to education in the past have been crash monster maintenance headaches with a CD ROM to restore the entire system and software at once. [required to get every software application to work, if the drive has been reformatted]

So if little Johnny figures out how to erase the disk or even just trashes one of the telecom applications, the administrator has to start by re-installing all of the original system and software, then re-installing any system version updates and other acquired third party software, then go back through the installed products and sift out the duplications and obsoleted versions. Most of a day's work is lost. Frustration builds. And, after the third and forth time, the siren call of Windows starts to take its toll. Not that Windows is any better.

But a Macintosh is supposed to be BETTER! By a considerable margin.

Well, that's my soapbox. Listen up Apple Reps!

Good luck, Musubi. Even after all this, I wouldn't wish a Wintel classroom network on anyone.
