Paul Engel, re: AMD shelf-registration. FWIW here's my guess. I read on the AMD thread that AMD is to make an announcement the second week of March. I'm guessing that IBM, (Compaq?), is going to make an investment in AMD. I've always felt that they want to make sure that AMD remains a viable competitor. If memory serves me right IBM made a similar investment in Intel many years ago, for much the same reasons. This is only a guess, and certainly doesn't represent any knowledge of what actually is transpiring. Just a wild shot.
