Hypocritical Sun Makes Half-Hearted Standards Promise for Java zdnet.com The story behind the story. Sun has been banging the open standards drum for years while keeping Java proprietary. It realized it couldn't get away with this hypocrisy any longer. So it concocted a plan to give an open appearance while continuing to squeeze out a proprietary advantage. (This is just too entertaining to ignore)
