I reside in Connecticut. Just about all the towns in lower Fairfield County pay about that. I would bet that starting salaries are about that same level, $30k, but just wait a decade and salary zooms. I am surprised by your experience with the California variant of the New Math, since the "60 Minutes" show said California had decided to junk it. Seems before the "new way", California had always scored at/near the top, since then it had scored at/near the bottom. Aren't they abandoning it?
