As an Intel Shareholder till tomorrow, I was waiting to load up on Amat after seeing the Asia effect. Now I must ponder what this news does to the chip equipment maker short term. My reentry was 27. Now IMHO this could go substantially lower. Just curious what you guys think. I now have set my target on amat in the teens. Impossible you say. Well if Intel stumbles then the Equipment makers will too ? Now I know chips will be sold and the next chip cycle will be met by the equipment makers. But that is till 1999! 2/4/98 is today and am I overreacting? IMHO Things don't look great in our sector.
