ALL: street.com from whom I flagrantly and unapologetically plagiarize has 3 stories on the Intel warning. Two of the three articles imply that Compaq channel stuffing in Q4 may be the reason for Intel's earnings warning. These stories corroborate earlier analysis by resident DELLhead Jim Kelly on the CPQ channel stuffing issue. Ergo, the impact on DELL may be moderate and short-lived tomorrow morning. For the uninitiated, Instinet quotes are generally indicative of the next morning's general price behaviour and should not be construed to be indicative of quantitative price movement. I believe that after the last INTC warning a DELL spokesperson [I forget whom] publicly stated that DELL was not experiencing problems & that their Q was intact. If we see a significant gap down in the morning rest assured, as Patrick has confirmed, that DELL management is closely monitoring this situation and will take action if required.
