Great article. After almost two years of R&D by these Sun licensees
they still don't have a chip to show for it! What was IBM thinking
when they chose to license pico? Maybe they think they can do better
than LG Semi, NEC, Fujitsu, Samsung, etc. but I doubt it. If they want
to have a working java chip I know where they can license the core of
one and then customize it to their own specs... BTW, I hear Patriot's
engineers think an interpreter may not be necessary on the .35m PSC
1000. Wouldn't that be a hoot! A 100% java native chip from PTSC!
Take THAT all you naysayers (that includes SME and JT). Also heard that the ROK chip does NOT have Sun JavaOS ported to it but a clean
room version instead. Of course the thing isn't even in silicon yet
either, but no matter, it still gets honorable mention. (gag)
