Don't know where that info comes from. The last I heard was that Proton was expecting a 60% DECLINE in production due to the "soft" economic situation. From what I gather a lot of this years production is targeted at the LIMO market for the Commonwealth Games in Sept. (Originally they were going to buy 1000 or so Mercedes for Airport to KL service) Someone with a brain figured out soon after the currency devalued that spending 400K to 500K per Merc was not too sharp.

Since the original announcement the only thing I have seen is that Proton will start selling more cars in Singapore due to favorable exchange rates. This will not be enough volume to indicate a substantial ramp-up..

Sounds like someone's wishful thinking. I'll keep my eyes open for further news re Proton.
