let, how about some serious discussion? First of all, we are due any time now for a press release for earnings for the qtr ended 1-31-98. As you know, we have been guided by the company toward a loss for that qtr. That should be old news to any serious holder of Sand stock. Arthur has told us on conference call time and time again that revenue growth won't occur until after June 1, 1998. However, the old line of business for HDS in Canada is going gangbusters and should be providing quite good dividends for Sand, although they are burning cash at a pretty good rate now.

What's coming may be an announcement concerning a major marketing deal with a European firm, perhaps SAP??? They are the 4th largest software company in the world (if I'm not mistaken) and very big in enterprise software. That would be great news for us. In regard to the rumor on another message board concerning a deal with MSFT, I don't have any idea and don't care to hazard a guess although we could all retire on a deal like that. When I met Arthur in St. Louis about 1 1/2 years ago, he indicated that DEC would help him eventually get to MSFT but that he didn't think that would happen for awhile after the nucleus was being marketed.

Anxious to see the major technology analysts' reports on SAND and have been told that the report form the "big guy" is done and will be in print within 60 days.

Just go back and recall all things ever mentioned in a conference call and you'll see that eventually these things have come to pass although not as fast as we'd like, I'm sure.In regard to the message that you sent me recently, I have heard of no such problem facing us in regard to competition form anyone. I have been told that we still have the edge on all the other companies in the database business. BUT, time is of the essence, and I'm long winded.

Good luck tomorrow.
