Prop 13 was a God-send to this state in the grips of a horrible inflationary spiral caused in part by rampant governmental growth. Had it not passed taxation would have driven uncounted numbers of present day home owners back into the rental ranks. Property assessments were problematic prior to Prop 13 also. Besides the taxation promulgators have whittled around the edges and come up with numerous ways to retake the pound of flesh they so desired.

Re your comments about all the wonderful parental involvement at your daughter's school I say Bravo! That's as it should be. You are the interested parents, you should be contributing, and that is good for all.
