Do not go gently into that good night...

Virtually the entire derivative floor population met yesterday and cheered the news that the total automation plan of the TSE has been postponed to spring 2000 at the earliest. This whole plan should have a silver stake driven through its heart and buried at midnight at a cross-roads. That's how bad it is. I have no problem with adding appropriate technology to our trading, indeed have long campaigned for it, but total automation would create a dealer market a la NASDAQ. The exact opposite way we should be going.

At least now we have another year to try to stop this.

Looks like INTC is going to take the market down today. Damn. Just when I got long after four straight record high closes. Oh well.

Happy trading.

Porter
