come with historical data on CD. As far as I understand, the first two atleast have a way to complement the CD with current data obtained from Dial Data. You can even subscribe to a quarterly update CD. This is nice since you don't have to keep all data on your hard disk, and you don't have to download all of it either.

I was not aware of this with Metastock, but I know that SuperCharts includes Dial Data history on CD along with the Fundamental Data.

>Questions:
1)Can you do the same updating with Quote Plus, assuming you get the CD, which may contain "15 WEEKS delayed" quotes (rather than "15 mn").

Quotes Plus comes with 2 years of historical data. The data file takes up about 80 Megabytes and grows each day as you add current data.

> 2) Do you get so-called "fundamental" data from Quote Plus?

Quotes Plus does come with fundamental data that you can use within the Quotes Plus chart software and you can use it in database scans.

> 3) Can you make use of fundamental data in calculations inside
Metastock.

I do not believe you can. At least with version 5.11.

> 4) If you get fundamental data, does it include Canadian data. I noticed that online servers like NetWorth supply it only for US. Maybe the data doesn't even exist in standard form for Canada.

I think Quotes Plus only has NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX issues.

>I read about the new version Metastock 6.0 and it looks like the best buy to me, since it is both intuitive and easy to use. In addition, it seems that you will be able to integrate nicely with MS Office 97, which I'm planning to buy (now using MSWorks). It's always nice to be able to play freely with your data, like you can do in a spreadsheet.

The new version of Metastock does sound good. I am still waiting for Supercharts 4.0 to arrive. When it does, I will post my opinions in here.

As for Dial Data, can you tell me how much it costs? I may be interested in taking advantage of its integration features with SuperCharts and/or Metastock. Right now I am happy with Quotes Plus because it is cheap, I don't care alot about history over 2 years and am not real interested in making systems with fundamental data at this time.

I hope this helps you or anyone else make a decision. I am happy using primarily SuperCharts and Quotes Plus at this time. This is not to say there are not better alternatives.
