The 45 minute savings is not at all high. The TP-600 is programmed by IDX upon delivery to print as many cards as the user requires. Card meaning the ten-print cards sent to the FBI, State, County, ETC. Most departments require at least three cards, with some as many as six or seven. These cards would have to be completely typed from scratch with the ink and roll systems while IDX eliminates a great majority of this wasted time. Also, if there was a screw up while applying the Ink, the card would have to be thrown away and a new one started. With IDX, the fingerprints are visually added and double checked as acceptable before the machine lets you finish the operation. The double checking feature, is a software up-grade to the TP-600. Smaller departments may opt to do the double checking visually, which is also much easier on the TP-600.

I hope this answers your questions.
