Do any of the ESTI numbers seems funny...?

They have a 7x difference between early mortality after bypass vs bypass + TMR based upon about 220 patients

The mortality post bypass is not that high,, in general CABG patients, I would think in the 1% range...how can TMR have that much of an effect?

Maybe these were very high risk patients and not well matched in terms of other co-morbid illnesses?

It took tens of thousands of patients to show a mortality difference between TPA and streptokinase

Anynthoughts?
