Reuters is a wire service, like the Associated Press. They couldn't care less about the fortunes of MVSI or any other stock.

Business Wire is a for-fee service that releases press notices. It acts like a public relations firm.

Any news item you see from a wire service, whether its about Intel, IBM or MVSI, will almost always quote the latest stock price and recent activity, no matter how mundane.

Now how the wire services decide which stories to distribute and which not, is anyone's guess.

Finally, even though 3/8 of a point isn't a huge rise, it is a significant move, both in size and direction, relative to the stock's recent behavior. Identifying the cause isn't necessarily "hype".
