As one of the lucky that rode DEC from 20's to 50's, I'd like to confirm that INTC bought the PRODUCTION facilities for the Alpha chip. DEC (and now CPQ) still own the R&D operations, and all the computer scientists that go with these operations (important in todays job market). The sale was in exchange for cash and cheaper prices on future INTC chips. INTC will also license Alpha technology for use in the upcoming Merced chip. This said, the purchase of DEC indicates more support from and for INTC (chips) and MSFT (windows NT).

WHen will IOM announce earnings (new to thread, I've been scared off form Disk sector from my SYQT and KMAG experience)?
