Yes, you do get more for your money with Cyrix...in terms of weight. How do you like that humongous heat sink Cyrix PR6X whatevers come with? And, some (in)famous posters on the Cyrix thread say they apply heat sink goop, something like Vaseline, on top of that. And a fan. What happens when that goop dries out, and starts flaking and drifting around inside your PC? I'll bet the Seagates, Iomegas, Fujitsus, etc. of the world love it when that crap gets inside their drives.

Oh, BTW, our PC vendor advised avoid Cyrix for both reliability and availability problems.
