Dear Reason:
I think you asked some very good questions. However you apparently have failed to take into consideration that this company
has:
-earned $.13 per share for the first nine months
-Sales increase over sixfold from the previous year
-Announced a cash dividend of $.01 per share payable to shareholders of record on February 23,1998
-Implemented a buyback program of up to $5.0 million with AGE
Todate we have purchased over 800,000 shares in private and public transactions
-announced a JV with DataWave to form the largest single Prepaid
Phone Card company in Canada
- Announced a definitive agreement to acquire WorldPass Communications a $15.0 million sales company earning over $1.2
million in aftertax profits
-Discontinued Alpha Products, sold back R&D Scientific to its
original owner to both improve profitablity and stay focused
Having done all that we are still going forward with more acquisitions and intend to drop off more nonprofitable segments( including people who are not performing). In our letter to our shareholders, which will be coming out shortly we will address these and some of your more specific questions. With respect to the share price I have addressed your question in detail.I hate this price level
and we are taking steps to sop up the softshares. We can't buy to move
the price up but the actions we are taking now should effect the price in the near term.Anyway the long term people should not let the current price bother them(even though I said it it still bothers me)
because of our publicly stated objective to "build until we sell";
when we sell it will be all over quickly and I do not intend to give
the short termers time to react.Apparently I am not acting "immediately" enough for you. Therefore you should read Juli's post
with respect to Peter Lynch's philosophy and reevaluate your position.
In any event I wish you the very best
