Ken,
The moral of the story is:

The old adage about "if you build a better mouse trap the world will beat a path to your door" does NOT necessarily hold true.

QDRX had a GREAT product, i.e. a "better mouse trap", but management was too stupid to market the product effectively. The sporting goods industry did NOT "beat a path to their door". Why?

Because the sporting goods industry didn't have to.
