Wiz.. What happened?!! You guys have been doing a good job of keeping LSI up today...but who has been blowing it on the other threads?...Techs are looking like a mine field!! Are you sure those were plastic grenades...!??
Hmmm will have to check out the GSM figures...I'm so biased on the subject that I haven't given the least part of a damn about GSM...talk CDMA to me :-). But even the TSO would have to 'fess up and encourace LSI if there appears to be a consistent, growing market there... But the future, IMHO, is all CDMA..
There is an article in the March 9 Business Week, BTW, which indicates that Motorola's problems are largely because they blew it in CDMA, losing share to QCOM ((See Page 32: "Wireless Goes Haywire at Motorola").. The article notes that Qualcom has already released CDMA phones the size of cigarette packe, while Motorola isn't expected to achieve same until end of year. Elsewhere, LUCENT is expected to get a $500 Million contract from a Bell/ATI wireless service which was in Motorola's pocket...
Dan and you will just have to ignore TSO on the GSM/TDMA issue versus CDMA... after all, objective observers do not throw hand grenades. But to me the future is all CDMA, and having a huge buggy whip GSM plant-in-place which folks insist on upgrading and hanging on to..just delays the future...IMHO..of course ;-) TSO
