Steve, re heat, goop, etc., maybe you're right on this one. I don't know if I've ever looked at a Cyrix CPU chip, probably never will. On Cyrix reliability, our corporate PC vendor told us that other corporate customers have asked them to build Cyrix based PC's. They did, but couldn't get some of them working. Now, don't go telling me they are a schlock outfit. All their Pentium based machines work the first time, according to them. The Cyrix reliability problems have been well documented in many places.
