Hi Ross-

Since I don't do options I'm ignorant of options trading terms. The term "options chains" loses me, so in case it makes a difference to you, InterQuote supplies equity options data either rt or delayed. The rt data only requires payment of the OPRA exchange fee ($24/yr?) in addition to the IQ flat rate. Delayed options data is present in the standard continuous feed of the service I have.

The biggest drawback to IQ for most people is the lack of price charting (what they have is so primitive I wouldn't consider it charting) and indicators. That's not an issue to me in that I'm perfectly happy with a quote screen and alarms. Their's also a limit on how many symbols they'll support on their server for a user and that's currently 300. Again, that's fine for my purposes, but others may find that limiting.

Btw, one s/w vendor supports the IQ data feed with full charting/TA s/w. Linn Software <http://www.linnsoft.com> is a Power Mac package which has also been ported to Windows 95 and is called Investor/RT. I beta tested it and thought it was a very good package. Not up to what TradeStation does, but it's also not as cumbersome either. And at $500 it's a heck of a lot cheaper. It includes many TA indicators and supports searches (scans). Historical data support was difficult when I was testing it. They're up to V/2.7 now... the last version I tried was V/2.1 which added the search capability. Investor/RT saves data files from the tick data. Very sophisticated charting program with a distinct Mac feel.
