E!..LSI didn't get the INTC disease at all today, clearly... Now, is this the basing point for LSI??... Almost bought some today, just in case, but ended up grabbing more VECO.
AMD and Cyric chips are appearing more nd more, seems to me. Never thought I would be considering a non-Intel processor for my next computer, but the Cybermax, Home Theater runs a Cyrix 6X86 266MHz, and with the lower processor cost, I can get the 64 Meg of ram, STB's GlyderMax Video card with 8 Meg, Toshiba's DVD, including the MPEG 2 decoder card w/TV-Out..to hook the whole mess into my TV...All for about $2K, depending on how much Woofer I sub into the package..
Then, to patch up this PoC I'm working on, I get a Tiger Box with the AMD 233MHz, and dump all this into it... Voila..two good computers..even with no INtel! The world turneth.....TSO |
