The Truth -- From SH
After reading the comments today and yesterday, I am wondering how many of you were here during the infamous mid-July '97 episode where PDG's lies cut our share price by 60% in one day. From the looks of it, not many.
Otherwise you would realize that this is the exact same scenario being played out right now. Yet again, KRY has been victimized by a high-profile opponent who has the ears of the mainstream media and a penchant for doctoring the truth to serve a personal agenda.
Those of you who know the story and are fully paid-up (i.e. not on margin) have no cause for worry if you know the facts. Those who are ignorant are learning a few lessons about the value of due diligence, and those who are on margin are learning that you should never go on margin with speculative stocks! These lessons can be very painful and it is unfortunate that so many are learning things the hard way (I am sorry you got pushed out, Brutus. I hope you gather your courage, do some thinking, and hopefully get back in as a better and wiser speculator).
Ignorance is the weapon of those who are doing us harm and to say the least I am irritated that the small investor is bearing the brunt of this assault. We need no other proof than the current market fiasco to confirm that the TSE and the regulatory agencies care nothing for the individual investors and support only the large institutions that pay their bills.
However, it is counter-productive to point the finger at others. If you know what you are doing in this market (and you shouldn't be here if you don't), you must realize that it is the individual's prerogative to assume responsibility for one's own decisions. Did anyone force you to buy KRY? You made the decision and you must live with it. Screaming at management and Venezuela might make you feel better but does nothing to correct the fact that it was your decision to get into this play in the first place. If you can't live with the results of your own actions then admit it. T-Bills and GIC's should be your only investments.
I have to confess that the lack of hard news from Venezuela is almost beyond belief (after all these months!), but as we are small investors this is par for the course. Understanding and withstanding the pressures brought to bear upon us small investors is what allows us to become large investors. How do you think bbfisher got to where he is today? Sheer luck? A rich grand-daddy? I think not.
I am holding tight and feel remarkably calm but for the hand-holding I must do for those who are not intimately familiar with this play but bought because they believed in me. I am learning very swiftly that I would never, ever want to be a broker!
One last note: Does anyone here remember the way the share price was systematically manipulated lower in January before the large run? Someone wanted you out then and someone wants you out now. Are you going to let them do it, or aren't you? |
