Timoteo. Good Luck with your short today. As you know I went covered and went long hoping for a pop up. Hope it goes up a few more then what ever is pushing this up, should be known and I will decide accordingly. It really feels funny rooting for the Zit after being short for so long. The point is to make money. To All: I offer the following information, unedited, for all relative to State Gov't. Y2K issues. The info was taken from the March print edition of the Gov. Tech News, a pub, I get. They have not yet posted this issue on their site. They are usually a week or so late in publishing this on their web site. This is THE publication for State and Local Gov't. IT news. Oregon: Pre-qualified 41 vendors for Y2K work. (I need time to research this to find out who was qualified.) Arizona. Their Gov. Info. Tech. Agency estimates costs will exceed $60 million. State has budgeted $27.4M Florida. Gov. Childs is recommending $21.5 M in FY 99. (I do not know what has been appropriated for 98) Georgia. Gov. Miller is requesting $152,176,753 ( I am not making this number up) in supplemental appropriations to fiscal yr. 1998 budget to address the states yr. 2000 problem. In addition, to that, $41,367,190 is available from Federal and other funds in agencies fy98 operating budgets for Y2K compliance expenditures. Virginia. Gov. Allen proposed fy 99 and 00 budgets include over $41.1 for Y2K compliance. I am not posting this to imply that Z/M will get one penny from all this. It does show that State Gov. agencies represent a LOT of $$$ for this work and my guess is they are not ahead of the curve. Someone is going to get a LOT of $$$. $315M from just four states!!!
