Dear friends:
Well, I added some today. It took me by surprise actually...quite nicely.
I am trying to create a profit scenario for my 200 shares of Lucent @ 104+, which will soon split, vs taking that money and adding to RNTK and running both projections out for maybe one year. I had Lucent when it first spun off and so I have done well with it.
What I am doing is looking at my portfolio to see where the money would come from(real cash vs margin)were I to buy more RNTK. I plan on holding my tava, cisco, coms, athm, seek, and other longs. I am hesitant to use my money market account for this purchase because I have that linked to my day/swing trade account, which is actually what I use for income. I could sell a T-note for this RNTK purchase, but I find it comforting to have them stuck away as they are in case I really screw up sometime. <G>
I don't mean to turn this thread into a financial planning forum, but I know so many of you from other threads and you have quite honestly been a significant part of my education. Until a year ago, my experience was limited to buying a mutual fund and some blue chips and more or less forgetting about them. Now that I am an active investor/trader, I am happy to have a place where I can toss some ideas around as I continue to learn.
I'm not really asking for advice here, for that would not be fair of me. Just wondering....
