The Year in Network Computing Through this NC timeline, we'll follow how various companies responded to the NC concept in '97. Some came out strongly for or against -- most of these softened their opinions and mutated their strategies as reality took hold. Some companies stayed quiet, possibly hoping the whole thing would simply fade away. Some wanted to play (and were very vocal about it), but couldn't decide which side of fence to be on.
