I'm not sure that train is gone for good. When I first got into C/S development everyone ( including, on occasion, me!) predicted the demise of big iron. While people where afraid to blow horns and whistles about it, M/F development continued and now is experiencing a resurgence. I believe there are still a lot of apps that if "right sized" should be on a LAN based C/S platform. Right now people are using systems with that size of budget to experiment with the internet/intranet. I believe there will be a resurgence in C/S development at some point in the not too distant future. How big a resurgence is the big question. ( did someone say "dead cat bounce"?!?! <g>)
