March 5, 1998/FOOLWIRE/ -- Outdoor advertising firm Lamar Advertising Co. (Nasdaq: LAMR) increased $1 5/8 to $36 1/2 on takeover speculation, according to CNBC. The company announced a three-for-two stock split on Monday.

This raise a question... which company would takeover LAMR???
Charles, I know you mentioned CCU (Clear Channel Communications) as a possibility, a few days ago. However, with today's takeover of "More Group Plc" by CCU (see: biz.yahoo.com ), makes me believe that they are out of the picture to takeover LAMR in the coming weeks. So.. who would?
Please give me your opinion on that one. Thanks
