Looks like good things are happening at Mylex as far as OEMs. I know that TPCC is the key measurement in server performance, and I don't see AMI or Adaptec having press releases like these.

( BW)(MYLEX)(MYLX) Mylex Raid Controller Helps Fujitsu-ICL Achieve World Record TPC-C Performance Results for 6-Way Servers; Mylex DAC960PJ is World's Highest Performance Enterprise-Class RAID Controller
Business Editors/Computer Writers
FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 2, 1998--Mylex Corporation (NASDAQ:MYLX), the world's leading RAID controller vendor in the non-captive network systems marketplace, today announced that the Mylex DAC960PJ RAID controller has helped Fujitsu achieve world-record transaction processing performance results for its 6-way Intel based NT server, according to a recently completed TPC-C benchmark. TPC-C, which is a rigorous benchmark performed under supervision of the Transaction Processing Performance Council, provides an indication of real-world server performance in On-line Analytical Transaction Processing (OLTP) environments. "We tested numerous RAID controllers, and the Mylex DAC960PJ allowed our server to achieve the highest possible performance," said Paul Stow, general manager, servers, at Fujitsu ICL Computers Ltd based in Bracknell, UK. "Our servers address high-end enterprise application server environments such as databases. Because storage systems typically represent the principal performance bottleneck in these data driven environments, it was especially important for us to partner with a RAID controller vendor who could deliver on our strict requirements for performance, reliability and quality engineering." The server, the Fujitsu teamserver M796i, achieved 13,391.13 tpmC (transactions per minute) at a cost of only $37.62/tpmC. The Fujitsu results mark the second time in less than three months that the Mylex DAC960PJ has helped a major high-end server manufacturer achieve recording-breaking TPC-C results. "We're extremely pleased that the DAC960PJ has once again proven itself to be the world's fastest RAID controller," said Doug Fields, Mylex senior product marketing manager. "Numerous industry benchmark tests, such as TPC-C, Ziff-Davis ServerBench(tm) and Intel IOMETER(tm) confirm that the DAC960PJ sets the standard in performance for enterprise-class RAID applications."
DAC960PJ Delivers Record-Setting Performance
The DAC960PJ is the world's highest performance RAID controller. In November, for example, the DAC960PJ helped a vendor of 8-way Intel servers achieve performance of 14,900 tpmC, another world record. The DAC960PJ achieves its award-winning performance by combining an onboard 66Mhz Intel 960RD RISC
processor with Mylex's own firmware and RAID accelerator. The dedicated RISC processor offloads RAID management functions from the host CPU, resulting in higher RAID and server performance. The custom Mylex firmware used by the DAC960PJ is the same firmware used by Mylex's best-selling midrange DAC960PG RAID controller, which allows OEM customers who have already certified the DAC960PG controller in their systems to reduce or eliminate the need for additional DAC960PJ qualifications.
Pricing and Availability
The DAC960PJ is available in one, two and three channel configurations with MSRP pricing of $1,235, $1,411 and $1,590 respectively. The DAC960PJ was introduced in October, 1997, and began shipping in volume quantities this month. Several leading OEM server manufacturers have already designed the DAC960PJ into their systems.
