News On Chryslers Hybrid Car: From Todays Paper. 1. Called Dodge Entrepid ESX2 2. A plastic Body machine capable of getting 80MPG. Injection Molded plastic. 3. Family size sedan. 4. Combines plastic-body technology with hybrid-engine technology. A diesel engine with batteries. 5. Will do 0 to 60 mph in about 12 seconds. 6. Uses a 1.5 liter, 74 horse power, 3 cylinder direct-injected diesel engine and a lead-acid battery pack. 7. Chrysler is rejecting "non-friendly" technology like the fuel cell. 8. With the diesel/battery tandem, the ESX2 can get 70 mpg, or 10 mpg short of Chryslers 80 mpg target. 9. If they hit all home runs on safety, fuel, economy, emissions and affordability, it could be on the road by 2003. If don' hit all home runs it will be on road in 2007. Comments?
