You have excellent questions, and there are a lot of emerging technologies out there. But this is how I would reply to your questions. Maybe the question will also be posed to BAAT tomorrow.

What does the Chrysler Hybrid cost to produce??

The 3 cylinder diesel is similar to the BAAT Car. BAAT also makes batteries that would fit the application.

Why does Chrysler have to wait until 2003? for affordability?

What would it cost to license BAAT's technology and put it on the production line in 1999/2000? (I think less)

What would the Geo Metro get if it was made of plastic. Or better yet, if the Chysler plastic sedan weighed the same as the steel Geo Metro, then BAAT could make the technology happen today.

Weird business. I think its tough for the Big 3 to tell its shareholders that it's spent $$$$$$$$$$$$$ on producing a hybrid car that may not be affordable (ie the EV-1) when the tinkerer in the garage down the street made it happen.

Again, weird business!!
