Etruscan Resources Inc EET Shares issued 35862467 1998-03-05 close $3.95 Thursday Mar 5 1998 Mr Gerald McConnell reports Etruscan has received assay results from seven core holes drilled at the Samira gold deposit on the Tiawa permit in Niger, West Africa which confirm the continuation of the gold mineralization at depth. These are the last holes of a 12 hole drill program totaling 4,011m completed by Placer Dome Exploration. The objective of the program was to test the gold mineralization in the Main zone between vertical depths of 200 and 250 metres. Furthermore, the drilling indicates the dip of the Main zone is flattening at a vertical depth of about 200 metres thereby increasing the potential size of an open pit mining operation. Drilling on the western end of the Main zone confirms the mineralization encountered in hole 97SA-005 (33.3m at 3.22 g/t) defines a new extension of the Samira horizon. Three deep holes, 97SA-096, 100 and 101 all intersected significant mineralization down dip from hole 97SA-005. Holes 97SA-097 and 098 confirmed the down dip extension of the mineralization intersected in hole TSC13 (57.2m at 3.15 g/). Hole 97SA-099 confirmed the down dip extension of the mineralization intersected in hole TSC17 (50.0m at 2.81 g/t). Placer Dome Exploration is actively exploring the Tiawa concession. Crews are engaged in regional geochemical surveys, geophysical surveys, geological mapping and auger drilling in order to complete the property wide evaluation by this spring.
